I grew up in Karachi. Moved to Canada in my twenties. Started in retail — a clothing store in Scarborough. Real estate came later, then took over everything.
Over 20 years I built a portfolio across Canada and the US — buying properties nobody else wanted, in places nobody else was looking. Distressed buildings. Government surplus. Historic structures with complicated pasts. The deals that made people say "why would you buy that?"
Since 2024 my family and I have been nomadic. China, Pakistan, West Africa, Europe, the Middle East. We worldschool our three daughters. I write about what I see — the places, the ideas, the contradictions, the things worth remembering.
This blog is my notebook. No agenda. No funnel. Just writing.
