Many times I have been where you don't want to be when you're drinking. Past the stage where you know you'll wake up with a clear head in the morning. Sometimes past the stage where you know you'll make it to bed alright.

I have had many instances when I was younger when I drank too much. I regret most of them. Because in the moment it feels fun, but it's never fun the next morning, or when you're trying to get yourself to bed at night.

There was one time in Cuba with S. and A.M. We were drinking all day, and our routine stop to the room to change for dinner lasted a bit longer for me. I woke up at 4 am thinking it was dinner time, with vomit all over my room. Horrible.

The other time I knew things had gotten out of hand was early in university. One night we were doing vodka shots, and I passed out somewhere downtown and woke up in Z.'s apartment the next morning.

Everything in moderation, they say. I would just avoid drinking altogether — not sure how you control it, especially when it's such a social thing. The worst part is sometimes you think something god-awful can happen, which can be disastrous.

Simply put: it's not worth it.

Nothing brings the worst out of you more than liquor.
